Hi, I’m Liz!
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Mom, and Wife. I spend most of my days trying to find a balance between these roles, like most of you. I am lucky enough to love my job; emotional growth and well being is a way of life for me and helping others is the ultimate reward. I have spent most of my career working with children and their families. Before I became a therapist, I was a high school teacher. This experience gives me a unique understanding of the academic and social pressures young people face, and I love helping adolescents and parents navigate these challenging years. When I’m not working with people in my practice, I am working with a children’s community mental health non-profit organization in Jacksonville, and when I’m not working, you can find me spending time with my family and friends, at the beach, riding bikes, playing at the park, or reading a book.
I specialize in helping young people develop skills for managing stress, depression, social skills, academics and organization, as well as repairing the parent/child relationship which can become broken as children begin to differentiate themselves from their family of origin in search of their own identity. I also offer a variety of services specifically for parents and the many challenges we face throughout those early developmental years. Parenting is hard! Your kid did NOT come with a manual & things can become overwhelming before you know it.
I combine mindfulness & CBT with a strengths & reality based approach to meet people where they are, explore their challenges, & find a path toward a healthier life and relationships. I tailor my sessions to the needs of the individual or family; together we can design a therapy setting that is best for you and work toward a brighter tomorrow. Call me today for a FREE phone consultation and lets get things back on track.
